Team Lana ("we," "us," or "our") is an animal shelter operating in Bulgaria, with administrative functions in Denmark. Our mission is to rehome street dogs, primarily working with adopters in Denmark but open to international users.

• Name (for application processing and user identification)
• Email Address (used internally for admin identification)
• Profile Image (if provided, used for blog posts or internal display)
• reCAPTCHA Data (processed by Google for spam prevention)

We do not collect passwords, IP addresses, or other personally identifiable information.

3. How We Collect Data

• Authentication: We use Clerk to handle user authentication. Your login credentials are processed by Clerk, Inc., which acts as a data processor.
• Application Submissions: Your name and email are used for adoption applications.
• Blog Contributions: If you post on our blog (staff only), your profile image is displayed as an author identifier.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under:

• Contractual necessity (to process applications and maintain accounts)
• Legitimate interest (to maintain account functionality)
• Consent (for optional profile display features)

5. Data Storage & Retention

• All user data is stored in Neon PostgreSQL.
• Data is retained until a user requests deletion.
• Only the developer has access to raw database records.
• Admins can view name, email, and profile image on the admin dashboard for role assignment but cannot see passwords or other sensitive data.

6. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

7. Third-Party Services

We use:

• Clerk (for authentication) – Data is processed under their DPA.
• Google reCAPTCHA (for spam prevention) – Data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.

8. Security Measures

• Data is stored securely in Neon PostgreSQL.
• Only authorized personnel can access stored information.
• No third parties have direct access to user data, aside from Clerk handling authentication.

9. Policy Changes

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be notified via email or website updates.
